smartfiber AG in the Green Directory of the Heimtextil 2014: List of sustainable house- and home textiles

The Green Directory of the Heimtextil is a list of qualified exhibitors, who show exceptional commitment for sustainability. The smartfiber AG is awarded with the "Green Leaf“ of the Green Directory due to the fiber´s production with environmentally-friendly materials and renewable raw materials.

True to the motto of smartfiber AG: "Anything against nature, won´t abide for any length of time.“ (Charles Darwin).

Best example of our sustainable commitment is the gentle harvest of the brown algae for the SeaCell™-fiber. Only every four years, a particular part above the regenerative zone of the brown algae will be cut to permit normal regrowth. The seaweed is completely untreated, 100 % USDA organic certified and its biological quality is preserved.

The SeaCell™-calendar for the year 2014 in English is released. Beside the typical SeaCell™-branding motifs, it includes twelve wonderful pictures from Iceland – the home of the unique SeaCell™-seaweed.

The impressions are the result of a journey of the smartfiber AG´s management in the summer of 2012. The team of the smartfiber AG followed the Icelandic specialists during the seaweed harvest and took great pictures of the vulcanic island´s flora and fauna.
